You might be laughing at the title of this page....GET A LIFE!....really?
saying...."Thanks, I already have one." But do you have a totally renewed life? What about eternity? Do
you know your eternal destination right now? Are you sure?
If not....
Have you confessed the Lord Jesus Christ
as your Lord and Savior? If not, then you are missing out on the best relationship
that you will ever experience in your life. Asking the Lord Jesus
into your life will change your life totally.
When the Lord Jesus
spoke to some lowly fishermen and told them to "Follow Me!" they couldn't begin to fathom how drastically this man was about
to change their lives forever.
You might be thinking about now that you have lived too sinful a life up
to this point and how could you ever receive forgiveness for all of the mistakes that you have made in your life. But
the Bible states very clearly:
Romans 3:23
For All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.
also
Romans 6:23
For
the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
The Lord God
has stated in His Word that He knew that no one would be able to attain to His Holiness,
this is why He graciously sent His only begotten son, the Lord Jesus Christ to pay the price
for all of our sins. How did He pay this price? He paid it by dying in our place.
Romans 5:8
But God commends His love toward us, that while we were yet
sinners, Christ died for us.
With that said, we also went to the grave with Him and when He was raised
from the dead, so were we and we were given a new life so that we might praise Him for all He has given to us.
Romans 6:4
Therefore, we are buried with Him by baptism into death;
that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
Probably about now, you might be thinking that perhaps this is something
you might look further into or perhaps you're ready to give the Lord Jesus Christ a real
try. If you are ready to GET A NEW LIFE, there's an easy confession that you speak out loud. Now you're probably
saying to yourself, "Why do I have to do this thing out loud? What if someone else hears me?" You don't have to
speak this out loud in the presence of others necessarily....you can if you want to...but the main person you're speaking
to is the Lord Jesus Christ himself.
After all, He's the one that's going to SAVE
YOU. Your parents can't...your teachers can't...your friends can't...absolutely no one can
SAVE YOU....except THE LORD JESUS CHRIST! He's the only one who has this NEW LIFE.
If you're ready....then....
This is the verse of Scripture in the Holy Bible that this prayer is based
upon.
Romans 9:10-11
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord
Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness;
and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
So if you're ready to give the Lord Jesus Christ
a try, say this prayer out loud.
"Lord Jesus...I want
you to be MY Lord...the one that I want to be in control of my life. I confess that YOU are the only one who can SAVE
ME from eternal death. YOU are the one who can GIVE ME ETERNAL LIFE. I ask you right
now to come into my heart and live there forever. Right now I confess that the Almighty
God and Father raised you from the dead so that I could be saved. I also right now confess my sins to
you (you can now find a quiet place to be alone for this) and ask you to forgive me for all of them and lead me to the place
where I no longer want to do those things that displease you. I thank you right now that you have now given to me eternal
life"
If you're thinking that this was just too easy...you're right...it is easy
to ask the Lord Jesus Christ to come into your heart and to ask Him to forgive you for all
the sinful things that you have done in your life up to this point.
But here's the catch....(hey, wait a minute...you should have told me there
was a catch....I knew it....there's always a catch...)
It's not always easy to WALK OUT this NEW LIFESTYLE, you know....the one
that's called the CHRISTIAN lifestyle. But take heart....you now have the LORD JESUS CHRIST,
who was and is forever the perfect example of this new lifestyle choice.
Even better...(this is an excellent catch, by the way) HE'S walking with you right now. He'll be there to hold you up if you let Him,
He'll heal you of all of your past wounds. He'll teach you all of HIS ways and teach you how to walk RIGHTEOUS. He'll also give you the BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, if you ask HIM.
Just ask HIM, "LORD JESUS, please BAPTIZE me
with your HOLY SPIRIT." Expect it, you don't have to wait for it. ASK AND YOU SHALL
RECEIVE!
How's that for a CATCH? It beats the proverbial FREE LUNCH, doesn't
it?
Oh, yeah...there is one more catch to this NEW
LIFE....
The
Lord Jesus Christ is called the GREAT FISHERMAN...
AND
HE JUST CAUGHT YOU, MY FRIEND! CONGRATS!
Now, you can also believe and say the following Bible verse:
Romans 1:16
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the
power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
