"Here I stand, I can do none else. God
help me!"
Martin Luther
"As we grow in knowledge and closer
relationship with Jesus we are to test our progress and evaluate the fruit our life produces. We reach beyond the surface
for depth. The world around us, even in Christian circles, is going the other way—away from a relationship based on
revelation of the Lord and of His wisdom revealed in His Word. There are converts everywhere, but few disciples."
Shirley Weaver
"Vision without execution is just an interesting idea."
George Barna
"Courage isn't the absence of fears, it is going forward
in spite of your fears."

The church, in so many ways, is a sort of potter's field where the
gifts of women, as so many strangers, are buried. How long, O Lord, how long before man shall roll away the stone that
we may see a resurrection?
Phoebe Palmer (1807-1874)
American
Preacher and social reformer (1)
"Do not put such unlimited power into
the hands of husbands. Remember all men would be tyrants if they could."
"If we mean to have heroes, statesmen
and philosophers, we should have learned women."
"I've always felt that a person's intelligence is
directly reflected by the number of conflicting points of view he can entertain simultaneously on the same topic."
"Learning is not attained by chance, it must be sought
for with ardor and diligence."
"Great necessities call out great virtues."
"We have too many high-sounding words, and too
few actions that correspond with them."
"You
do not need to quote great men in order to prove that you are one."
Abigail Adams, First Lady
United States of America
"Cheap grace," writes Dietrich
Bonhoefer, "means the justification of sin without the justification of the sinner. Grace alone does everything, they say,
and so everything can remain as it was before....Cheap grace is the preaching of forgiveness without requiring repentance,
baptism without church discipline, communion without confession, absolution without personal confession. Cheap grace is grace
without discipleship, grace without the cross, grace without Jesus Christ, living and incarnate.
"Costly grace is the hidden treasure in
the field; for the sake of it a man will gladly go and sell all that he has....Such grace is costly because it calls us to
follow, and it is grace because it calls us to follow Jesus Christ. It is costly because it costs a man his life, and it is
grace because it gives a man the only true life. It is costly because it condemns sin, and grace because it justifies the
sinner. Above all, it is costly because it cost God the life of His Son: 'ye were bought with a price', and what has cost
God much cannot be cheap for us. Above all, it is grace because God did not reckon His Son too dear a price to pay for our
life, but delivered Him up for us, Costly grace is the Incarnation of God."
Dietrich Bonhoefer
